Flanking the Tagus River, Lisbon has many wonderful and interesting cultural sights to explore, from the ultra modern MAAT (Museum of Art, Architecture & Technology) to the medieval hilltop fortification of Sao Jorge Castle. The light of Lisbon has always captivated artists, writers and poets with its long hours of summer sun and golden sunsets.
My summer visit to the Lisbon coast inspired me too. Maybe it was the different surroundings, the relaxed atmosphere and culinary delights that also played a part. As I explored some of the sights I noticed things from a different perspective. Like the long shadow of Cristo do Rei and the contrast of light and dark from inside MAAT.
Now I want to continue this theme of light, dark and shadows and set myself the creative challenge of seeing and capturing things from a different perspective.
